NO POVERTY
Despite Iceland being one of the wealthiest countries in Europe there are still challenges to face. There are still groups of people in Iceland who live in poverty and one of the main goals UNESCO has is to leave noone behind.
The biggest challenges in Iceland considering poverty are to;

- Provide economical support for education, nationally and internationally. to children and youth.
- Continue to provide equal pay within the Glacier Journey family no matter of nationality of the employees.

RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
Worldwide consumption and production have had a destructive impact on the planet. To reinforce responsible consumption and production it is important to make the most of the naturally occurring energy forces and resources which exist within the country. Minimizing food waste and make sure that companies take their responsibility for the community are of great importance. The biggest challenges in Iceland considering responsible consumption and production are;
- To reduce consumption and reduce food waste to lessen the carbon footprint.
- Implement a cycle of thinking in all consumption and production to reassure that the natural resources aren’t used over their limit.
- To ensure that the tourism industry works in collaboration with nature and the community.
In the forthcoming 5 years Glacier Journey wants to work with these challenges by;
- Consciously reduce any unnecessary consumption.
- Even further increase the cycle of thinking and behaving considering consumption.
- Be in complete harmony with nature and be as sustainable as we can possibly become.
PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS
To reach the sustainable development goals it is important for everyone, from every person to the community, nationally and internationally, to work together. Ending poverty, nationally and internationally, is one of the main targets to reach the sustainable development goals.
Another main target is to develop environmentally-friendly technology and to reassure that all business is made with responsibility for the community as well as with respect to natural resources.
The biggest challenges in Iceland considering partnership for the goals are;
- To contribute 0,7% of the countries GDP to developmental cooperation.
- To increase economical support for private investors who promote sustainability.
In the forthcoming 5 years Glacier Journey wants to work with these challenges by;
