Gulli
Tour guide/owner

Gulli has over 30 years of experience in snowmobiling and glacier journeys.
He is a car mechanic and worked as such when glacier journeys were only his hobby. Now he continues to work as a mechanic for Glacier Journey along with being a guide.  Gulli war born and raised in the realm of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, which is about 270 km south of the Vatnajökull glacier area.

Laufey
Tour guide/owner

Laufey is a certificated guide with over 20 years of experience in glacier journeys. She was born and raised in the realm of Vatnajökull glacier.
You will never be disappointed when Laufey is around and you can be sure she will always let you know exactly what she thinks.
When guiding, she’s is in her element and that is what she does best.
In addition to that she is also the best mom and grandma.

Kári
Tour guide

Kári was born and raised in Iceland but moved to Austria when he was 23 years old. He stayed there for 10 years, working as a river rafting guide, guiding kayak tours on the river Mur in Steiermark, with SUP tours and more.
Kári eventually moved back to Iceland and is now working at Glacier Journey as a tour guide and car mechanic.
Kári has worked in the industry for almost half his life and is well accustomed to the glaciers and mountains. In addition to that he has finished courses in tourism service, Wilderness First Responder and Crevasse rescue training.
Kári enjoys being outside, mountaineering, climbing and motor sports.

Tinna Rut
Office / Guide

Tinna Rut is the youngest daughter of Gulli & Laufey.

She is a mother and a wife. Her husband Árni is also working for Glacier Journey.

She was raised on a dairy and sheep farm. After she moved away from home, she bought a house on a farm. She loves the freedom that the countryside has to offer.

She was working for 10 years with disabled people in Höfn before joining the Glacier Journey team.

Tinna Rut is working in the office at Glacier Journey – answering emails, taking care of bookings, and operating the homepage.

Stephan
Tour guide

Originally from Austria, Stephan learned to ski around the same time he learned to walk. Since then, he has barely missed a chance to play in the mountains and continues to do so after his move to Iceland in 2013.

Besides having decades of glacier and snowmobiling experience under his belt, he is also a member of the local Search & Rescue team and keeps his skills sharp with continuous training as a Wilderness First Responder, high-angle and crevasse rescue, and mountain safety.

Andrei
Tour guide

Andrei is a certificated guide with 10+ years of experience in mountain and glacier journeys. He is an adventures guy that loves being in nature. There is never a dull moment where he is. Andrei has also been a skiing and snowboarding instructor for many years on the ski slope with people of all ages, especially children.

He was born and raised in Romania surrounded by the second-longest mountain range in Europe, The Carpathian mountains. He is now living with his family here in the realm of Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe.

Andrei has finished several courses which he continues to keep up to date, to name a few he has Wilderness First Responder and Crevasse Rescue Training.

Mikhail
Tour guide

Mikhail came to Iceland in 2023 from Russia. He is from Yakutia, so he is used to the extremely cold climate.

He loves living in the realm of Vatnajökull and we are lucky that he is here to stay.

He is a jokester and it’s always fun to be around him.

Mikhail is a certified engineer and has just started his guiding life in 2023. He loves being a guide and has obviously found his passion in life.

Paul
Tour guide

Paul came to Iceland in 2016 from Romania, where he grew up surrounded by the Carpathian mountains. He loves being in the nature and living in the realm of Vatnajökull.

He is always ready for adventure and a good laugh.

Paul is a certificated guide and has in addition finished several additional courses, such as Wilderness First Responder and Crevasse Rescue Training, which he continues to keep up to date.

Árni Már
Driver / Guide

Árni is Gulli & Laufey’s son in law. He is married to Tinna Rut who is also working for Glacier Journey.

He was born and raised close to Vatnajökull and he has no intentions of ever moving away from its majestic presence.

He is a father and husband. He has been a professional truck driver for 20 years. He just started working for Glacier Journey last year as a driver and car mechanic.

His English might not be perfect, but you won’t get a better driver.

He loves anything that has an engine in it. His hobby is travelling in nature around his home on an ATV or in his Yamaha buggy.
