HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DRIVE TO YOUR BASE CAMP

When taking a tour with us – it is good to be located somewhere close to the area.

If you have a morning tour with us – it’s best to stay somewhere in the area the night before.

If you have an afternoon tour with us – it’s best to stay somewhere in the area the night after.

To our summer location – Base camp by Hotel Smyrlabjorg

From Reykjavík it takes you approx. 5 hours.

From Vík it takes you approx. 3 hours.

From Skaftafell it takes you approx. 1 hour.

From Höfn it takes you approx. 40 minutes.

Note – these times are given that the roads are in good condition and weather is good.

To our winter location – Jökulsárlón

From Reykjavík it takes you approx. 4 hours.

From Vík it takes you approx. 2 hours.

From Skaftafell it takes you approx. 50 minutes.
