tours on small buses for groups. It is our passion to provide our customers to experience the astonishing nature in the area.
The Glacier Journey family
Glacier Journey is a local family business owned and run by the couple Laufey and Gulli. They live in the countryside, have four children and four grandchildren. Their combined experience is counted in decades, although there are not that old!
He has over 30 years of experience in snowmobiling and glacier journeys, he is a car mechanic and worked as such when glacier journeys were only his hobby. Now he continues to work as a mechanic for Glacier Journey along with being a guide. Gulli is born and raised in the realm of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, which is about 270 km south of the Vatnajökull glacier area.
Andrei is a certificated guide with 10+ years of experience in mountain and glacier journeys. He is adventures guy and loves being in nature, there is never a dull moment where he is. Andrei also a skiing and snowboard instructor for many years on the ski slope with people of all ages, especially children.
He is born and raised in Romania surrounded by a second-longest mountain range in Europe, The Carpathian mountains, now living with his family here in the realm of Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe.
Andrei is has finished several courses which he continues to keep up to date, to name a few he has Wilderness First Responder and Crevasse Rescue Training.
Originally from Austria, Stephan learned to ski around the same time he could walk. Since then he has barely missed a chance to play in the mountains and continues to do so after his move to Iceland in 2013. Besides having decades of glacier and snowmobiling experience under his belt, he is also a member of the local Search & Rescue team and keeps his skills sharp with continuous training as a Wilderness First Responder, high-angle and crevasse rescue, and mountain safety.
